Job Summary/Responsibilities:
The Business Librarian reports to the Head, Reference and Collection Development Services for reference and library instruction duties and to the Collection Development Coordinator for collection development/management and faculty liaison responsibilities. 

Summary of Duties: 

40% Provides specialized, in-depth reference assistance and research consulting in the Business areas of Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems & Decision Sciences, Marketing, Management, and Public Administration; conducts office hours in the E.J. Ourso College of Business; collaborates with Business faculty on special projects; develops library instructional materials and provides instructional sessions for Business classes. 

25% Develops and provides specialized information literacy instruction for the Business Residential Life College; consults with the Instruction Coordinator on instruction matters; keeps current with emerging digital technologies and incorporates, where appropriate, in the provision of instructional services. 

15% Serves as a selector and faculty liaison for one or more subject areas; reviews approval plan program; participates in liaison group activities; maintains collection development policy(ies) for assigned subject area(s). 

15% Provides general and specialized reference at the Reference desk (may work nights and weekends on a rotating basis); provides virtual reference services; provides instructional sessions for one-shot classes. 

05% Other duties as assigned.  
Required Qualifications:
Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited library program; undergraduate degree in the social sciences or related business and/or economics work experience; demonstrated ability to work both independently and collegially in a demanding and rapidly changing environment; excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; knowledge of and experience in using traditional and electronic reference resources; knowledge of HTML and the ability to create Web pages.

Familiarity with current bibliographic and reference sources in business and economics; experience in providing reference service in an academic library.
