The Law Library of Louisiana is seeking an outgoing self-starter to provide legal research assistance to the judiciary, the Bar, and the public. Work is completed independently, as well as within a small team. The team environment at the Law Library includes collaborating with other members; contributing to the team’s work product; and following established guidelines, suggesting revisions or new guidelines as necessary. Duties also include assistance with materials selection; library exhibits and legal history research; library tours; and various special projects.

Successful candidates will possess the following credentials and skills: ALA-accredited MLIS; at least three years professional law library experience; current advanced online research skills with a major platform (Westlaw/Lexis); intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work effectively with a variety of people; ability to respond to changing needs and priorities. Experience in court or government library preferred.
