|Reporting to the Head of Manuscripts Processing, the Manuscripts Processing Archivist arranges and describes archival material that is a part of the Louisiana and Lower Mississippi Valley Collections. The incumbent participates in projects to revise, edit, correct, and digitally publish legacy finding aids and assists with the accession of newly acquired manuscript materials. He or she provides public services at Special Collections service points and participates in outreach efforts, digitization projects, exhibition preparation as appropriate, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum of the equivalent of 1 year, full-time experience arranging and describing archival collections. Knowledge of archival theory, practice, standards, and best practices; awareness of information technologies appropriate to archives; strong commitment to technical services in support of public services.
