Job Concepts
Delgado Community College Library seeks an innovative, service-oriented Part Time Librarian (Adjunct Instructor) for Delgado’s City Park Site.
The successful candidate will have:
knowledge and interest in library issues related to reference services;
evidence of a strong understanding of electronic and print resources used in libraries;
strong commitment to library access service;
excellent interpersonal, oral, analytical, and organizational skills; and
demonstrated skill providing reference services and bibliographic instruction.

Examples of Work
Responsibility / Duty
Open and/or close the library during morning or evening shifts,
Maintain Circulation desk and/or Reference desk area including books, computers, reserve, audio-visual, and periodical materials. Conduct circulation of materials to library patrons using SIRSI Symphony library system;
Monitor & Schedule Group Study Rooms for Faculty, Staff, and Students,
Answer directional/ informational questions/ reference questions,
Fill out and assist with LaLinc card requests,
Monitor and Answer Virtual Reference and Ask A Librarian Questions
Submit daily statistics to the Coordinator of Access Services/Reference Librarian,
Assist with shelving and/or shifting new books/materials in down time,
Assist with updating and revising research guides.
Provide general and specialized reference and instructional services during assigned hours, which may include evenings and weekends. Assist users with reference queries, OPAC and database searching, and the retrieval of materials,
Provide in-depth bibliographic instruction to users on-site and on-line, schedule library instruction classes, Booking of classes using SIRSI Symphony library system,
Develop individualized bibliographic instruction program for special population in collaboration with Reference Librarians college-wide;
Maintain daily classroom statistics/ reports statistics to Interlibrary Loan Librarian/Reference Librarian,
Assist in the selection, management and use of information resources for the reference collection and electronic databases,
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Library Services.
