Arizona State University Libraries invites applications for the position of Digital Asset Coordinator.

Under direction, leads and supports processing and stewardship of born-digital collection materials and facilitates digital access to analogue materials; provides expertise on issues related to the management of digital special collection materials, research data file management and digital forensics workflows by actively engaging in the acquisition, appraisal, arrangement and description of digital collections.
Participates in ongoing development, implementation, and assessment of systems, policies, and workflows to manage long-term stewardship, and access for born-digital and digitized collections in accordance with emerging standards and best practices.
Manages and collaborates in the design and implementation of workflows and training including, but not limited to: digital forensics, curation of incoming digital objects, lifecycle management, policies for effective and efficient organization and discovery of primary resource materials;
Coordinates arrangement and description workflows and participates in the integration of related metadata into systems for storage, discovery, and display.
Plans, develops and implements methods and practices for stewardship of sensitive information per policies of the university to ensure adherence to licensing and donor agreements.
Evaluates functionality and manages content in digital asset management systems including, but not limited to: ASU Digital Repository, Omeka, MediaAmp and other related, future platforms supported by the ASU Libraries.
Works collaboratively with project teams, curators, other library staff, and collection donors to evaluate, appraise and supervise proper transfer of born-digital holdings.
Creates and maintains project documentation; assists plan and manage multiple simultaneous programs to ensure achievement of established deliverables and objectives.
Participates as needed on library committees.
Provides advice and assistance for digital archives and special collections and researches repositories by collaborating with other units within the ASU Libraries.
Bachelor’s degree from an ALA-accredited program in Library/Information Science and two (2) years of experience in the management of electronic records in a library, archives, or museum setting which includes applying strategy and technology such as digital forensics, digital preservation and systems used by libraries, archives, or museums to manage born-digital materials OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities in archival theory, practice of appraisal, arrangement, description, and preservation of digital archival materials.
Evidence of an advanced degree in an appropriate subject discipline with relevant special collections, archival or museum training OR certification by digital asset management program.
Demonstrated knowledge of the standards for describing and preserving archives and special collections holdings including Dublin Core, EAD, MODS, METS, DACS, RDA, PREMIS and preservation system protocols such as OAIS.
Demonstrated knowledge of the methods, practices and standards of project management, workflow design and implementation for digital projects
Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of computer operating systems, storage systems, and file formats
Demonstrated knowledge of the standards and best practices for digitization of archival materials such as manuscripts, rare books, photographs, audiovisual recordings, or other special collections holdings.
Demonstrated knowledge of the standards and methods related to privacy, confidentiality, copyright and use policies associated with archival materials
Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
