Member Services Manager, Illinois – USA

Cooperative Computer Services (CCS) is seeking a Member Services Manager who can collaboratively work with member library staff and develop formal technology training programs.  This is a great opportunity to share your passion for training and technology with member libraries so that they can best serve their communities.

CCS provides a shared SirsiDynix Symphony® Integrated Library System with an Enterprise® Discovery Interface to 24 public libraries in the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education –

  • Master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association(ALA) accredited institution OR
    master’s degree in instructional design or education

Knowledge/Experience‐ 

  • Three to five years of relevant experience required; must include both library experience and
    training/teaching experience
  • Knowledge and experience with editing and producing recorded training such as videos, webinars, and
    screencasts required
  •  Knowledge and experience with remote training via videoconferencing and/or webinars highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Integrated Library Systems
  • Knowledge and experience in working with highly cooperative and collaborative environments

Skills/Abilities‐ 

  • Demonstrated passion for service excellence in all dealings with CCS and library boards, employees, member
    library staff, vendors and other public constituents
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups of members with wide‐ranging skill levels
    and needs
  • A strong command of the English language and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and implement projects effectively
  • Ability to work effectively without supervision, to exercise sound, independent judgment, to foresee
    potential problems and to suggest effective solutions
  • Ability to maintain a productive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner with
    clients and colleagues while achieving performance expectations
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with social media such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Proficiency with basic web design concepts such as HTML and CSS

Technical/Physical Requirements:

  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Effectively communicate with trainees in how to use new technology resources
  • Available to work evenings and weekends
