Systems and Metadata Librarian.  12-month appointment with faculty status, tenure track.


Responsible for operation and management of library’s ILS (Innovative Interfaces Sierra).  Enter, supervise and assist in cataloging library materials into the ILS.  Oversee the Library LAN (80 computers) and provide hardware and network support for the library.  Oversees maintenance and enhancement of library’s technology infrastructure such as servers, printers, scanners and other hardware.  Responsible for library systems such as print management, EZproxy, Cassie, Clio, Ebsco Discovery Service.  Train library staff in use of new hardware/software resources in support of library’s mission.  Engage in reference service with some weekend duties.  Supervise a computer technician and a library cataloging technician.


ALA-accredited MLS.  The ideal candidate for this position will be a collegial, well-organized librarian with the experience and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.   The ideal candidate will demonstrate aptitude with computer hardware and software; have strong public service commitment and team attitude; and have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Additional desired qualifications include experience with integrated library systems (preferably III); windows servers and networking; and knowledge of client and server-side scripting, HTML, PHP and SQL are preferred.  Entry level applicants are encouraged to apply.
