The Library is planning to select several employees through the Federal Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) Program. The PMF program is a leadership development program for the federal government, which is open to candidates who have completed an advanced degree in the past two years. Fellows bring their unique experience and fresh perspectives to federal agencies, and receive professional development and guidance in return. The PMF program includes robust work assignments, training, access to manager expertise, and the potential to convert into a permanent position.
We encourage recent graduates with degrees and/or a background in library and information science, geographic information systems (GIS), mathematics, history, and other related fields to apply for Federal employment through the PMF program. To be considered for this employment opportunity at the Library of Congress, applicants must apply to the PMF program and become a finalist. PMF finalists are highly sought after for their leadership skills by many agencies across the Federal government. If not selected by the Library of Congress, Fellows hired by other agencies may also be able to undertake a rotational assignment at the Library. Past PMFs at the Library of Congress have worked in all areas of library and research services and operations support.
