Internship: Wearable Technology Development

The User Experience group at Siemens Medical Solutions is seeking for interns to work on R&D projects on the topic of Wearable Technology for Industrial Work. Recent graduates or students in HCI and Computer Science are encouraged to apply.
The interns will work closely with senior staff in designing future Siemens products/systems, supporting funded research projects, and/or creating highly interactive conceptual systems for demonstrations, conferences and international tradeshows. The UX team is a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural, dynamic, and friendly work environment. Our interns are from the top universities and design schools worldwide.
Develop and test wearable prototypes, such as Google Glass apps, to showcase innovative user experience concepts
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including experts in Cognitive Psychology, Interaction Design, Human Factors, and Visual Design
Communicating with other colleagues across different projects to solve technical problems
Follow up latest design and technology trends and share the knowledge among the team
Participate in project meetings to support project goals, requirements, processes, deliverables, and timelines
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human Computer Interaction (must feature a software curriculum)
Proficiency and working experience in mobile development (e.g. Android, iOS) is required. Experience with Google Glass app development is a plus.
At least one language/technology and working experience with backend development(e.g. Java) is required.
Online portfolio to demonstrate both technology background and design thinking is preferred.
Experience in software subversion control system is a plus.
